About the Register of Deeds Office
The Columbia County Register of Deeds office currently has 2 full time staff members along with the Register of Deeds. In June, 2017 the Register of Deeds office moved into a newly built Administration Building along the Portage Canal.

We offer e-Recording and on-line access to real estate records and well as the ability to order vital records on-line. Register of Deeds staff is in the process of completing a large back scan project that allows additional on-line access to real estate records dating back to 1964. This was started in 2010 and is about 75% completed. Birth records are available for anyone born in the State of Wisconsin. Other vital records are also available, depending on the date of the event.
